Our Story

Built by hand.
Made with heart.

A portrait painter, a life coach, and a hilltop in Shropshire.

Jess and Max outside Oak Hut

We're Max and Jess, a portrait painter and a life coach who swapped London life for the Shropshire countryside, and never looked back.

Max grew up on the land where our huts now sit, and when the first lockdown hit, we packed up our eight-week-old and made the move permanently.

It was on those long country walks that the idea took hold: a place where guests could slow down, recharge, reconnect with what matters, and leave feeling more like themselves. Max built the second hut entirely by hand with help from his uncle, and crafted the outdoor space around the first. A few years and two small children later, Shropshire Shepherd's Huts was born.

We built this for people who crave a little adventure, space to breathe, and the chance to properly switch off.

Max built these huts by hand. Every join, every detail considered. We believe in making things properly.
